The article deals with the issues related to the need to form the economic culture of the population. The potential for large-scale financial literacy activities, but with a focus on economic activities within the family, was analyzed. The author proves the necessity of forming A Russian way of forming the economic culture of the family. The analysis of the main prerequisites that have formed for creating a new direction in the social policy of the state in the field of popularization of economic knowledge is carried out. The author proves the importance and role of the family in the formation of an effective system of market relations at the state level.
