Economic aspects of use alternative energy sources in the Republic of Kazakhstan

The article shows that thanks to the appropriate geographical and climatic conditions Kazakhstan has significant potential for electricity production from solar and windy energy. However the share of renewable energy in electricity production in the republic in the last five years has risen by only 0.1 %. One of the problem of usage of alternative energy sources is the location of many settlements at considerable distances from large power plants. According to the authors, in order to achieve economic benefit in these conditions, alternative energy in Kazakhstan must develop according to plan which will be aimed at the development and establishment autonomous electrical systems and heat supply and the development of small distributed energy.
