Economic aspects of tourism in Russia and world

The development of tourism is one of the priority tasks of the national economy, the largest and most dynamic industry in modern society, whose contribution to world GDP is more than 10% and which creates at least 260 million jobs. In many countries of the world, tourism is one of the most profitable areas of the economy, and the number of people employed in the tourism industry is already commensurate with the number of people employed in other sectors of the economy. The contribution of the tourism industry to Russia's GDP in 2019 was 4%. The article briefly examines the economic aspects of the world tourism industry as a whole, as well as the dynamics of the main types of tourism, prospects and problems of the development of the industry in Russia.
