Economic aspects of solid municipal waste management: Russian and foreign practice

This paper presents an analysis of approaches to solid municipal waste management at the current stage of development of economic systems at any level of management. It is proved that the problem of solid municipal waste management is one of the most significant and important at the present stage of economic development, effective management of which should raise the level of sustainable development of the entire economic system of the country as a whole to a new level. All projects that are related to solid municipal waste management should be evaluated in three dimensions: economic, social, and environmental (this is stated by the UN, OECD, and others, including within the framework of sustainable development of the country and the achievement of the sdgs). To achieve the goals of the national project «Ecology», it is necessary to develop production from recycled waste to create a so-called «cyclical economy». in Other words, the garbage itself from the final product becomes raw materials for new production: for example, from recycled tires.
