Economic and environmental benefits of renewable energy sources for Russia and the USA

The article analyzes the current state and development prospects of renewable energy sources (RES) in Russia and the USA. Based on the latest data, investments in RES, electricity production, and the share of RES in the overall energy balance are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the dynamics of investments in the RES sector, as well as to the analysis of regional differences in the development of RES in Russia. The main trends in the development of the RES sector in the two largest economies in the world are identified, and the factors influencing these processes are determined. The results of the study show that despite the existing differences, both countries demonstrate a steady increase in the use of RES, which is due to both economic and environmental factors.
