Economic justification of M. P. Posenfor the emancipation of peasants reforms

A historical review of the economic consequences of the peasant reform is conducted.Special attention is paid to the proposals made by M. Р. Posen on the abolition of serfdom. He has prepared more than fifteen papers that examined various scenarios for the abolition of serfdom. The authors believe that disagreements over the adoption of the law on the abolition of serfdom could become a trigger for acute political clashes and one of the possible causes of all Russian revolutions. However, it is also true that the emancipation of peasants activated the development of industrial capitalism in Russia.
