Economic burden social significant diseases and deviant behavior (at the region level)

The article presents the results of the cost analysis of the social and economic burden of mortality in the Vologda region in 2012 by Years of Potential Life Lost. The total burden of social significant diseases (i.e., mental diseases, alcoholism, and drug abuse. homicides and suicides). accounted for over half (55.8%) of the total mortality burden, or 5.4% of GRP, more than from other causes. The main contribution to the total burden of death from alcohol abuse and suicide: 25%, respectively.
