The economic rationale and need for the introduction of precision farming in agricultural enterprises of the Vologda region

Effective agriculture is the basis of economic security of the country. But now in the industry there is a shortage of qualified personnel, high-performance machines, developed infrastructure. Therefore, saving resources based on the use of precision farming is the main direction in crop production. The effectiveness of the introduction of precision farming was examined on the example of «Pokrovskoe» of the Gryazovets district of the Vologda region. The authors carried out calculations of the implementation of the project for the introduction of accurate farming and its use until 2021. The Vologda region is located in the area of risky farming. Therefore, the calculation of the efficiency of the use of precision farming is based on a method taking into account natural and climatic risks. Gross harvest of cereals is determined by this method.
