In the presented work, the economic indicators of the economic sector of the region engaged in the production and processing of sunflower oil seeds are considered. Statistical data on the economic activity of agricultural organizations engaged in sunflower production for 2020-2022 are analyzed. The article considers the trend of changes in the acreage and processing volumes of sunflower seeds in the Krasnodar Territory in connection with the economic conditions prevailing in the field of agricultural production in the Russian Federation due to sanctions restrictions. A comparison of sunflower production indicators for the main regions of Russia producing sunflower oil seeds for 2022 was carried out. The economic activity of the region aimed at increasing the production of sunflower and the volume of its processing is analyzed. The special relevance of the issues of agricultural production to meet the needs of the population is indicated, as well as the growth of the regional gross product, and consequently, the development of the regional economy. The range of issues being addressed in the region within the framework of increasing the contribution of sunflower-producing organizations to the regional economy is outlined. The development of the industry is especially important in the conditions of restrictions that take place in the Russian economy, increasing the pace of sunflower production and processing will allow the economy of the region to improve its performance.
