This article describes the situation in the global meat market with a medium-term forecast for its development for the period 2019-2028, regarding the volumes of production, consumption and trade of pork of the main leading countries for the production of meat products. The article concludes with a crisis discussing important risks and uncertainties affecting the global meat market caused by the crisis in the pig sector due to the continued spread of African swine fever (ASF).
