The central theme of this article is the labor market, which acts as a complex multidimensional phenomenon of the modern economy, as well as a complex of labor relations and an integral part of the social and labor system. Social and labor relations are associated with the implementation of the abilities to work of an individual and the working-age population based on market principles, that is, because of demand and supply, purchase and sale of labor, and competition. The purpose of this article is to give a comprehensive view of the labor market as a dynamic system, the fundamental principle of which is the relationship between demand and supply, the hiring (distribution) of labor and its exchange for living means (wages); to reveal the mechanism of the labor market and the factors that affect the supply and demand of labor, its qualitative and quantitative characteristics: mobility, qualification, number, etc .; show the nature of the institution of the labor market, identify the problems of its formation and stable functioning in the Russian economy in modern conditions. Taking into account the specifics of this topic and the range of issues raised, the structure of the article allows you to touch on the theoretical issues of the labor market, as well as partly the practical experience of the functioning of the labor market in modern Russian conditions.
