Ecosystem approach in banking

The purpose of the article is to explore the ecosystem approach in banking by analyzing the banking sector in Russia, on the basis of which to propose approaches to managing the development of banking ecosystems. The objectives of the work are: to analyze the banking system in Russia, to explore the ecosystem of banking as an innovative business model, to identify signs of restorative ecosystem growth during a period of financial constraints and unfriendly actions of partners in the financial market. The study was carried out on the basis of the content analysis method, within the framework of the theory of sustainable development, which systematically combines resources, services and platform solutions of various areas of banking, including non-financial ones. As a result of the conducted research, the specifics of the ecosystems of banking activity were revealed, as well as the prerequisites for restoring the growth of the banking sector through the introduction of ecosystem solutions. It can be concluded that ecosystems represent a promising business model for banking, but require careful analysis and preparation. Proportionality in regulating ecosystem development is related to the size of a particular ecosystem and the level of economic and social importance of the banking sector. Banks that take advantage of ecosystem development and create an ecosystem risk management system will have the opportunity to strengthen their market positions and ensure long-term success.
