From June 8 to 17, 2025, the yachting «Expedition in Time and Space» took place on Lake Onega. It was held to commemorate the 240th anniversary of the exploratory voyages of Gavriil Romanovich Derzhavin, the first governor of the Olonetsk Governorate and poet, and Nikolai Yakovlevich Ozeretskovsky, who initiated the study of Lake Onega. The expedition's progress is described using materials from the travel diary of one of the authors, N.A. Kuznetsov. These are supplemented by quotations from the works of G.R. Derzhavin and N.Ya. Ozeretskovsky, who traveled the same routes more than two centuries earlier. The participants of the expedition, which took place in June 2025, studied the history and current state of wooden shipbuilding, lighthouses, monasteries, cultural and natural heritage sites, as well as the potential for developing water tourism on Lake Onega.
