In work the experimental results of screening the depth of light part and capacity of bottom sediments of Elchevsky water basin located in Sverdlovsk oblast are presented. Definition of degree of reservoir filling by bottom sediments formed as a result of Degtyarsky mine activity, its effective capacity was the work purpose. The model of reservoir by results of measurements in 233 points in regular intervals located on the area of pond mirror was constructed. The concept of division the total amount of reservoir on conditional parts, proceeding from degree of filling both geological conditions, and consideration of these parts separately from the point of view of safety is offered. Possible scenarios of adverse effect on surrounding environment are considered. The most safe way of reservoir clearing is offered.
