Experimental study of the position function of a planetary irregular motion mechanism with non-circular gears

Transmissions with non-circular gears are widely used to realize irregular rotational motion of the output link. One of the most promising practical applications is the drive of a stirred tank, in which the impeller performs irregular rotation in order to intensify heat and mass transfer when mixing liquids. In this work, we study a planetary mechanism with external and internal gearing, with one pair of wheels made in the form of elliptical gears. Kinematic analysis was carried out in accordance with the constructed velocity plan, on the basis of which position functions were determined and constructed for four variants of the planetary mechanism with different gear sizes. An experimental prototype was developed and the position functions for the studied variants were studied, the analysis of which showed the adequacy of the constructed kinematic model to real mechanisms. As a result of statistical processing of the experimental results, the uncertainty of the obtained measurements and confidence intervals were determined.
