Experimental study of the operation of a grain separator with sieves with increased orienting ability

The article is devoted to the study of the grain separation process on a double sieve separator with cylindrical swinging sieves with increased orienting activity. Cleaning grain material is one of the hot topics in agricultural production, since with the increased clogging of fields, the loads on post-harvesting machines for grain sheaves is also increased. A prototype of a double sieve separator with cylindrical swinging sieves with increased orienting activity was developed. The purpose of the article is to determine the zone of rational parameters of the operation of the sieve, which allow for an increase in its orienting activity, and, as a result, its quantitative and qualitative indicators. For the research, the method of the planned experiment was used. To describe the laws of the grain separation process, a symmetrical composite orthogonal plan with three factors was carried out on a double sieve separator with cylindrical swinging sieves with increased orienting activity. A regression equation was obtained, adequate at a 5% significance level. On the basis of the regression equation, the dependencies were obtained between the qualitative characteristic of the operation of the sieve box and the completeness of the separation from the variable parameters: the specific load on the working elements of the separator, the angle of inclination of the sieve holes and the frequency of oscillation of the working elements. An interpretation is given of the processes that occur during the movement of grain material along the perforated surface. Based on the obtained dependencies, the main rational design and operational parameters of the separator were determined, which will allow for the direct intensification of the separation process. According to the obtained dependencies, as well as the design and operational parameters of the separator, conclusions were formulated based on the results of the study.
