Experimental studies of the power take-off shart

When operating MTZ tractors with driven agricultural machines, the power take-off shaft (PTS) is subjected to significant loading. The least reliable element is the brake band of the inclusion drum. Due to the imperfection of the switching mechanism containing the servo device, the switching drum performs a sufficiently large number of revolutions until it stops completely. When the steel drum slides against the tape, its friction pads wear out intensively. In addition, the wear of the tape pads occurs when the drum periodically slips during fluctuations in the load on the machine drive. To increase the durability of the friction linings of the brake bands, a different design for switching on the PTS using electromagnets is proposed. This makes it possible to eliminate the slipping of the inclusion drum when the tractor is operating with a drive machine, as well as to reduce the number of revolutions of the inclusion drum to a complete stop. The operating modes of the electromagnetic switching mechanism were worked out on an experimental installation.
