Expert study of braking performance of urban railway vehicles

The article provides an analysis of road accidents involving urban railway vehicles. The causes of these accidents are identified and the influence of seasonality factors on the frequency of their occurrence is established. Trolley Park of Russian cities, design features of the tram car brake system and its malfunctions are considered. The procedure for checking the braking performance of a tram car using the "Effect-02" device is disclosed. The results of experimental studies are presented. The research made it possible to draw a conclusion about the possibility of using the "Effect-02" device when conducting an expert experiment to determine the braking performance of urban railway vehicles, both when checking the technical condition of their braking system, and in road accident.
