Expert community about ethno-social processes and causes of interethnic tension in Russian South

On the basis of the expert survey, the article examines correlation of ethno-social processes and interethnic tension in Russian South. It has been found that interethnic tension, on the one hand, can impact negatively ethno-social processes reinforcing the negative aspects of inter-ethnic relations, which are particularly worrisome in a multi-ethnic community of the region, and complicating inter-ethnic relations. On the other hand, they have a positive influence on the ethno-social processes. The authors describe the main causes of the ethno-social tension in the region: economic and ethno-cultural / ethno-religious factors and migration processes. It is concluded that evolving interethnic situation in the Russian South is beginning to impose new demands to the research and development.
