On the base of statistical data the analysis of fault reasons of excitement systems of synchronous generator is made. The dynamics of proportion of power part and excitement control system is considered. It is shown that usage of reserve ES and 100% backup in power part requires undertaking the additional studies of the electromagnetic process.
