The article deals with the main aspects of the export of educational services from Russia to Mongolia. The relevance of the study is to determine the trends and factors that affect the relations between the two countries in the field of education in modern conditions. The USSR played a significant role in the formation and development of Mongolia's education system during the Soviet period, providing education and training of highly qualified personnel for the republic. It is noted that in the 90s of the XX century in Mongolia, the Soviet model of education was replaced by the Western one. Despite the decline in demand for the services of Russian universities among Mongolian students and the growth of competition with foreign universities in the educational market of Mongolia in the late XX-early XXI centuries, today Russian education remains attractive for citizens of the republic. The Russian government continues to take measures to promote Russian educational services in Mongolia. In general, the export of higher education abroad is undoubtedly becoming one of the mechanisms for implementing the policy of "soft power" of the state, contributing to the spread of the Russian language and culture in the world.
