Expression of proteins associated with cell motility in ovarian cancer

This review discusses the role of actin-binding proteins in reorganization of cytoskeleton, regulation of their expression and activity, actin cytoskeleton reorganization by activation of growth factor receptors, role of focal contacts in cell proliferation and motility as well as expression of proteins associated with cell motility in ovarian cancer. The further complex assessment of motility-related protein expression in ovarian cancer is required. Among these proteins, the search for the factors associated with clinical features of ovarian cancer and disease outcome is of great interest. Studies in this direction seem to be very promising in respect of the search for therapeutic targets for ovarian cancer
