Expressive component of metaphor in modern military-political discourse

The article represents a study of the expressive component of metaphor in modern military-political discourse. Based on the analysis of theoretical and practical material, the author conducts a study of the degrees of expressiveness in the military-political discourse and identifies pejorative, neutral and ameliorative metaphors. The texts of the English-language military-political discourse became the material of the research. According to the results of the study, it was made a conclusion about the dominant position of the pejorative metaphor.
