Extraction of bituminous products from chemically modified coals

The article presents the results of research on the chemical modification of coal by acylation with acetic acid, alkylation with ethanol, nitration, and sulfonation. Bituminous products of modified coals were obtained by chloroform extraction. The obtained data on changes in the mass of substances during the chemical modification of coal suggest a significant role of chemisorption processes on the surface of the coal mass. Bituminous oils are characterized by electron spectroscopy.
