Russian Orthodox biblical scholarship so far has not considered in sufficient detail the exegesis and rhetorical and stylistic details of the Pauline Epistles. Terefore one of the goals of this paper is to present some unique characteristics of the argumentative part of the Epistle to the Galatians. Te author has relied on the traditions of Russian theological sciences, religious studies, and humanities scholarship, using, among other things, the methods of exegesis and hermeneutics, comparative analysis, the analysis of cause and effect, and structural-functional analysis. Afer identifying the sources of St. Paul’s theology, he points out its important role in the spread of Christianity and its growth into the future universal Church. In this light, the author believes, a modern holistic approach to reading, studying, and interpreting the epistles of the Apostle Paul is necessary, one that also keeps in mind, however, the earlier exegetical traditions
