The article is devoted to the problem of generation relations. The author asks why the different generations do not understand each other. The result of philosophical and psychological investigation shows that the conflict between the elder and the younger generation hasn’t objective causes. The main factor which determines the psychological atmosphere within the family is the basic trust (E. Erikson) between the family members. Main convictions and thought of parents are given to children by means the personal example. Further they are revised in correlation with the current social situation, its changes and challenges. Very important for this process is the so called cultural memory. This is an alive memory of parents and grandparents who tell to new generations about anything from their life. So come true the generation ties. The other aspect of the cultural memory is ethnical myth. In this case the feeling of identity is wider. The man (woman) understands himself (herself) with his (her) people, tribe, nation, state etc. The author points to the growing crisis of writing culture, transhumanist trend and virtual reality as to the menace which could make the communication between generations more difficult. Elder generations in the first place must seek and find ways to save and conserve the social spiritual continuity.
