Electroencephalographic parameters and behavioral reactions in young cattle in connection with their age and keeping conditions

The behavioral reactions and electroencephalographic parameters were estimated in young cattle in connection with their age and keeping conditions. The possibility of prediction of animals' adaptability to industrial keeping conditions on the basis of electroencephalographic parameters is discussed. It was shown, that electroencephalographic parameters permit to determine a type of nervous system in calves since the four months age and so to reveal their adaptability to industrial keeping conditions. The interrelation between behavioral reactions and electroencephalographic parameters in animals with different types of higher nervous activity was revealed. It was noted, that behavior of animals of the strong counterbalanced type satisfies to requirements of technology of industrial keeping.
