The present article is devoted to the study of possible electrolyte disturbances in patients suffering from anorexia nervosa. Anorexia nervosa is a common and serious psychiatric eating disorder with severe medical complications. Acute manifestations of eating disorders are often associated with electrolyte imbalances including hypokalemia, hypocalcemia, hypomagnesemia, hypomagnesemia, hypophosphatemia, hyponatremia, metabolic alkalosis, etc. Electrolyte disturbances vary depending on whether the patient adheres to the habit of "cleansing" the body. Malnutrition, self-induced vomiting, abuse of laxatives and diuretics cause a number of physiologic dysfunctions that require immediate treatment.
