Electrostatic energy analyzer for electron spectroscopy of remote extended sources

Бесплатный доступ

This paper presents a new type of electrostatic energy analyzer based on mechanical cylindrical field bounded by concentric cylindrical surfaces and two flat surfaces perpendicular to the axis of symmetry of the cylinder. For a stream of charged particles entering directly into the window between the cylindrical electrodes calculated numerically focusing modes of second order for the two configurations: 1) a point source on the axis of symmetry, at a great distance from the analyzer and 2 ) a source of large angular size. The new device structurally simple and requires no protection systems on the boundary fields. An experimental spectrum is obtained from the fracture surface of the sample chamber directly into the ultrahigh special Auger spectrometer by using one of the calculated dot configurations for the remote source.
