Emotional intelligence as an object of psychological research

The urgency of the problem is due to the fact that emotional intelligence is one of the main components in achieving success in personal life and professional activity. The article discusses the basic concepts of «emotional intelligence» from the point of view of representatives of various approaches and concepts. The variety of definitions due to the choice of different bases for describing essential characteristics is shown.
