Empirical study of the relationship of individual-psychological characteristics of firm staff employees and their social representations on digital technologies

The initial results of an empirical study are described, the task of which was to study the relationship of the individual psychological characteristics of employees of an enterprise (company), on the one hand, and their social ideas regarding the use of digital technology, on the other. The study was conducted in the framework of the interdisciplinary concept of the company [1]. The following are taken as individual psychological characteristics of company employees for comparison with their social ideas about digital technologies: trust / distrust of the world, people, themselves; risk appetite, level of subjective control, rigidity. Social representations were identified using specially designed tools and analyzed according to a number of parameters. When processing the results, methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis were used. At the first stage of the study, it was decided to identify a possible relationship between the severity of the tendency of digital technology users to take risks, on the one hand, and the respondents' perceptions about the direction and intensity of using certain digital technologies, on the other. Data has been statistically processed using SPSS. The hypothesis that there is a connection between the indicators of respondents 'risk appetite in situations of physical danger and the respondents' perceptions about the direction and intensity of using digital technologies has not been confirmed. A possible interpretation of the results is presented. It is concluded that it is necessary to adjust the author’s methodology by revising the list of digital technologies proposed for verbalization of social representations.
