Possible options of development of power infrastructure of municipality of the city district "Vorkuta", two of which are coal and black oil, are considered. The third option is gas-coal, the fourth - coal with energy production in heat-extraction mode and complex use of associated at coal mining resources (coal mine methane and high-quality fuel derived from coal enrichment waste) and to minimize the heating system expensive fuel oil, the solution of the environmental problems of the city. An important condition of the IV option of power supply of the Arctic city of Vorkuta is the fact that it considers opportunities for providing power, proceeding from own renewable resources that answers the main task of development of the Russian power engineering - an integrated approach in use of non-renewable and renewable fuel and energy resources, especially in areas of their production. It is quite real to transfer all four municipal coal boiler rooms to better briquette fuel from coal slimes at increase in its production up to 50 thousand tons a year that will create more favorable ecological conditions in the zone of their action. Ensuring power supply of new mines of the Usinsk field, in our opinion, should be built on the basis of renewable own resources (coal mine methane and briquette fuel produced from brand Zh coal enrichment waste). At additional requirement of mines in the electric power the Pechora-Vorkuta power line of 220 kV passing in close proximity to Usinsk mines will be the source. In general such a system of power supply of Usinsk mines will initially increase the level of safety of mines, to ensure the solution of environmental problems, to organize waste-free coal production, to reduce the amount of energy required in the construction of the mines.
