The article examines the origins of the Indo-Pacific Strategy, the regions where it is being implemented, and how it is reflected in the foreign policy concepts of various countries. It focuses on the “Agreement on Peace and Prosperity” signed with Mongolia’s “third neighbor” — Japan. The article's aim is to highlight how the “Special Strategic Partnership” will influence bilateral relations and its significance for the two main directions of Mongolia’s foreign policy in the context of intense geopolitical competition between neighboring and third-party countries.
