Based on the memoirs and archives, the author describes the epidemic situation during the Caucasian War of 1817-1864. The historical and systems, historical and genetic, and historical and typological methods have been employed to reveal the main types and causes of infectious diseases among officers and soldiers of the Separate Caucasian Corps. The analysis of the impact of health and safety conditions on the Caucasian military daily life is an important aspect in the study of combat effectiveness and staff morale in the Separate Caucasian Corps. The research identifies the main preventive and anti-epidemic measures taken in the midst of hostilities in the Caucasus. The author concluded that the Russian regular army faced the problems of welfare and medical care on the front line in the severe weather conditions.
