Organization and characteristics of rendering first aid to injured people in emergencies by rescuers of EMERCOM of Russia

Relevance. Many authors and official statistics data state that the number of traumas and injuries including those resulting from emergencies has increased. As a rule, rescuers of EMERCOM of Russia are the first to get to the emergency site and render first aid to injured people. However, there have been almost no epidemiological studies of traumas and injuries in cases when rescuers of EMERCOM of Russia render first aid to emergency injures.Study objective is epidemiological assessment of traumas and injuries in cases when specialists of accident-rescue units of EMERCOM of Russia render first aid to emergency injures.Materials and methods. There have been analyzed the results of special questionnaire survey “Rendering First Aid to Injured People” answered by 373 rescuers of EMERCOM of Russia. It included 91 multiple choice questions in 6 categories.Results. The epidemiological assessment of characteristics of rendering first aid to emergency injured by rescuers of EMERCOM of Russia has shown main types of emergencies when the first aid is rendered by rescuers; types of injuries and their location; there have been assessed emergency injures’ state and consciousness at rendering first aid by specialists of EMERCOM of Russia as well as frequency of first aid actions.Discussion and Conclusion. The data obtained has a great significance for improving programmes of medical training provided for rescuers of EMERCOM of Russia as well as for equipping accident-rescue units engaged in emergency response.Bioabsorbable cannulated screws were used for treatment of different types of calcaneal bone fractures. These screws were used for articular surface restoration, restoration of angles, axial alignment and subtalar arthrodesis. Applying of bioabsorbable screws allowed to achieve a stable fixation of fragments, that provided standard postoperative care with early patient activisation. There were no complications. So, in respect that was no need for implants removal, and there were no obstacles for X-ray and MRI, application of that implants provides calcaneal bone fractures treatment optimization.
