The article discusses the relation between the title-and-final complex, in particular, the epigraph, and the main text of a lyrical cycle. On the material of two poetic cycles by a contemporary poetess Olga Sedakova The Chinese Journey and Old Songs (First Part) the epigraph is defined as the point where the author is present in her chosen cultural space, from which she creatively interprets one of the realities of the multidimensional world. Sedakova shows that it is possible to bring together Dao-Buddist ontology and Christian axiology. The author tries to eliminate her presence to the extreme, and the lyrical heroine turns out just a mirror of the poetic picture of the poem.
