Eponyms-cosmonims in international terminological nomination

The article reviews the secondary nomination of cosmonims formed by various types of onims, both individual and numerous. The necessity of the words nominative functions is brought out. There is a specific determination of secondary nomination: it is a language saving resource, the way of inviting the known units of demonstration to the new meanings and shades of knowledge. Eponimisation of proper names is described in details on the example of 80 words - names of celestial objects. The cosmonims used in the article are divided into different groups according to the exact criteria: cosmonims-mythonims, cosmonims-anthroponims, cosmonims-poetonims, cosmonims-toponims, cosmonims from hybrid names, dedicational names. These groups of cosmonims pass into the different semantic categories of homonyms. The transition from a proper name to the common name for each specific group is observed.
