Relay races in the system of physical education of schoolchildren

The article examines the place of relay races in the school physical education system, as well as their effectiveness as a means of raising the social activity of students, teamwork skills and the implementation of the creative and educational - cognitive abilities of schoolchildren. The main goals and objectives of physical culture and sports activities in a general education school are indicated. The authors considered the scientific substantiation of outstanding teachers on the practical application of outdoor games and relay races in the school educational program, which have cultural, value and humanistic potential. The classification of relays according to various criteria is described in detail and the methods of identifying the winners according to certain indicators are indicated. The paper identifies the invaluable role of relay races as one of the demanded methods of school physical education, defines their educational and educational value.
