This article discusses the origins of the aesthetic views of the famous American dancer Isadora Duncan, who made a revolutionary revolution in the art of dance in the 20th century. A dicult childhood and a complex gure of a mother, numerous tragedies in her personal life, social upheavals led the performer to atheism, which was intricately intertwined with fragmentary cultural knowledge obtained as a result of self-education, and the rejection of traditional morality. All this together contributed to the dancer's rebellion against classical ballet, because from the rst steps in the art of Isadora Duncan was looking for her key to its interpretation and understanding, as well as vivid impressions for inspiration. The new art of dance was born under the in uence of wonderful works of art and cultural events. At the same time, Duncan wanted to build her dance of the future not only on new aesthetic ideas, but also on new social foundations. In her opinion, a graceful, freely moving body in a dance can greatly in uence both the minds of people and their social life.
