Small town aesthetics as a factor of personal genesis (case study of the Vologda region towns)

The article analyses the aesthetics of small towns and its influence on the personal genesis of their residents. The author proves the importance of the aesthetic aspects of human environment perceived emotionally for socialization of a person. The paper outlines the specifics of the natural and man-made landscape of small towns of the Vologda region. On the basis of the survey of small town residents the author comes to the conclusion that the urban space has an aesthetic value for the majority of the inhabitants of these towns, the natural, historical beauty of which has a beneficial effect on the personal development.
