Institutionalization stages of the psychiatric services development: a regional aspect

The article contains the results of a retrospective analysis of the main institutionalization stages in the Russian psychiatric service. We demonstrated that the separation of the psychiatric service from the prison system was the longest period in its development. We covered the most important organizational aspects affected the establishment of modern psychiatric service by the example of Saratov Psychiatric Hospital.
