The study discussed a retrospective analysis of the establishment of higher historical education in the Russian Far East. The research revealed the impact of laws and regulations on the growth of education at any time. The analysis of relevant scientific literature resulted in the historical comprehension of the higher historical education system in Russia in 1918-1991. Considering the evolution of higher historical education in the Russian Far East, the author identified four development stages, described each of them, and justified regional characteristics. The research traced the restructuring chronology of universities and structural subdivisions that trained historians during the Soviet period in the cities of the Russian Far East: Vladivostok, Blagoveshchensk, Khabarovsk, Magadan, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, and Birobidzhan.
