Stages of development of contemporary insurance industry in Russia

The authors inquire into the questions of Russian insurance business development, in particular, on what stage of progress the insurance institution is, and which ones it has already passed. A considerable number of works on theory and practice of insurance have been analyzed. The article characterizes the state of the insurance market after the financial turmoil of 2008, and register sustainable increase of premium income on property insurance during the years under examination.
