Ethical imperatives of ecologizaiton of public conscience

The article highlights a complex problem of interconnection between the ecology and religion and presents the author’s views on searching the ways of reviving and promoting the traditions of environmental protection, which are a part of various religious and philosophical systems. The author shows the necessity to form the eco-friendly environmental conscience and the environmental ethics as an essential condition for the society's sustainable development. The authors attempt to demonstrate that the values of the world religions can play a significant role in the formation of the environmental ethics as an important factor in solving the contemporary global problems.
