Ethics of war and ethics of nonviolence: comparative analysis of classical and modern conceptions

Бесплатный доступ

In our paper we have tried to do a comparative analysis of the opinions of Russian religion philosophers (I.A. Iljin, N.A. Berdyaev, V.S. Solovyov and others), ideologists of the ethics of nonviolence (L.N. Tolstoy, M. Gandhi, M.-L. King) and some modern researchers. Having done this analysis we conclude that most moderate doctrines win among all of them. So in practice for keeping peace it is necessary to apply a big arsenal of nonviolence means which showed its effectiveness through nonviolence experience. Consequently, the doctrine of nonviolence is still topical for the society of the XXI-th century.
