This work is devoted to the study of the history and development of the category of official crime (malfeasance) in the Russian criminal law. The subject of the research is the norms of the domestic legislation, as well as the existing theoretical and legal positions on the definition of such legal category as “official crime”. The aim of the study is to study the existing approaches to the definition of “official crime” and develop a single definition. In the process of research, both General scientific methods of scientific cognition (analysis, synthesis) and private methods - comparative legal, systemic-are used.
