Ethnic identity as a factor of self-concept formation

The article discusses the problem of ethnic identity in the structure of consciousness. The author considers connection between the ethnic identity and emotional-value component of consciousness by studying the case of several ethnic groups (the Ob Yugrians and Russians). The undertaken research emphasizes importance of the ethnic identity in the formation of a positive self-concept.
