Ethnic stereotypes of modern teenagers and their leveling through training sessions

People's interethnic perceptions of each other are one of the key conditions for understanding and effective interaction of different ethnic groups. The important component of interethnic perceptions is ethnic stereotypes. The paper presents an analysis of the results of empirical research of auto- and heterostereotypes of Russian and Buryat teenagers - pupils of ethnically homogeneous and ethnically mixed classes of the Buryat Republic comprehensive schools and Ulan-Ude National Lyceum. The study showed that the content and direction of auto- and heterostereotypes, national self-determination of teenagers had been caused by the specifics of ethnic socialization. The fact of staying in a particular ethno-social group influenced the content of ethnic stereotypes: emotional-evaluative component of teenagers’ ethnic stereotype determined by direct experience of their everyday communication with representatives of other ethnic groups. The article revealed the peculiarities of work with young people in a form of ethno-psychological training aimed at negative ethnic stereotypes leveling. The efficiency of organized training sessions was confirmed statistically.
