The article deals with the national culture of the indigenous peoples of Yakutia. The author considers the cultural potential of the history and traditions of the indigenous ethnic groups for the development of ecotourism. The specials attention is paid to the particular im- portance of the traditional economic and spiritual culture of the indigenous peoples in the formation of the local cultural landscape. The paper also describes cul- tural and ethnic aspects of the life of Russian Arctic long-time residents who managed to keep the national identity and native language, at the same time making close contacts with the local people.
