Ethnic tourism as a promising direction of tourism in the Sakhalin region

The article presents the analysis of the resource base and perspectives for the development of ethnic tourism in the Sakhalin region. Ethno tourism, being a natural activity, stimulates the development of traditional crafts and can become one of the sources of income for local residents. Ethnic tourism is aimed at getting acquainted with the life, culture, traditions, customs of people who live in harmony with the natural environment. The development of ethnic tourism should contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage and be a factor in the development of the Sakhalin region.
